THE IDEA
The idea behind this project came from a talk I attended about Mary and her different apparitions around the world. I found it interesting that her appearance would always be relevant to the people she apparated to.
I came up with the logo by merging a color palette and a crown. Representing the 12 stars on Mary's halo through samples of paint. There's also a brush shape on the tip of the crown.
THE PROCESS
Photo Selection
A quick search helped me get the images I need. The photo should also be a good and accurate representation of the Marian image it's supposed to depict. The challenge is also making sure that the photo is under public domain.

Extraction
I run the selected photo through Adobe Color, a tool that extracts the color scheme of a given photo. I do this a couple of times to end up with multiple options.

Palette Creation
From the generated palettes, the challenge was in refining it to find the balance between the best expression of the image, and a color harmony that works.

Application
I had to test the palette on some illustrations to see if it would actually work as intended. So I brought up some sampaguita flowers to try them out.
